ESG
(Environmental, Social, and Governance)
We're all about supporting the amazing communities and beautiful environments our customers get to explore. At Travvia, we want to make sure we're giving back and making a positive impact to our community.
We strive to minimise our environmental footprint by promoting green travel practices and reducing waste across our operations. We are continually seeking innovative ways to protect the natural landscapes that our travellers love to explore.
We’ve implemented some sustainability practices to reduce our environmental impact. Some initiatives that we proudly support are:
Million Metres NZ
We have partnered with Million Metres, an online fundraising platform for restoring native trees to the banks of New Zealand's waterways.
Million Metres aims to raise funds to restore the nation's rivers, streams, lakes and wetlands with native plants and trees. They work with businesses, philanthropic organisations, community and iwi/hapū groups, and farmers to direct resources to waterway restoration projects at scale.
Our customers can contribute to this waterway restoration initiative and help mitigate the carbon emissions produced on road trips.
Carbon Offset AU
To help offset carbon emissions, we’ve partnered with the incredible team at Carbon Neutral, who are planting trees in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor. So far, we’ve helped Carbon Neutral plant over 3000 trees.
Located about 400km north of Perth in Western Australia’s northern agricultural region, the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor is recognised by Conservation International as one of 36 globally significant biodiversity hotspots currently under threat. Carbon Neutral is working to restore the area by planting a diverse mix of native Australian trees and shrubs, which not only remove carbon from the atmosphere but also reduce water salinity, prevent soil erosion, and create habitats for endangered species like the Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo and Malleefowl.
